Environmental Science Club
We volunteered at the Texas Discovery Gardens for the Crawl-O-Ween party this weekend. This was an event that was meant to engage visitors in the insectarium of the Texas Discovery Gardens.
There were 13 volunteers this time: Monique Pierce, Emma Alaimo, Alex Goberna, Jimmy Nguyen, Anali Balderas, Joseph Valdez, Hepson Sanchez, Aakash Mistry, Narcy Gonzalez, Aldre Relampagos, Prasanna Karur, Christian Benitez, and Murali Subramanian.
In total, Townview has put in a total of 113 hours to its community through this club.

Dallas ISD believes the support of community members, volunteers and parents is vital to the success of students. The involvement of volunteers and community members strengthens our schools and connects parents with district and community resources. This helps remove obstacles to school attendance, engagement and success.
Destination 2020—the district’s action plan designed to increase student academic achievement—is well into its second year. The plan focuses on having effective teachers, effective principals, additional resources in strategic feeder patterns (known as Imagine 2020), parent and community involvement, and additional student initiatives to increase the college and career readiness of each Dallas ISD student. Dallas Mayor's Race
Dallas Mayor's Race, Sat Dec 7, 9am at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
SEM will have a team... with students, Staff, Parents, Siblings, and friends of SEM.
We will decorate our free race shirts by adding SEM and drawings to our shirts to represent our school.
The event is FREE for all Dallas ISD staff and students, and includes a free Mayor's Race t-shirt, post-race refreshments, entertainment, and bus transportation for pre-registered Dallas ISD schools.

Dallas ISD received 157 “new” principals through Principal for a Day program. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, 157 business and civic leaders stepped into the principal role in Dallas ISD schools through their participation in the district’s Principal for a Day event. The experience is designed to form ongoing partnerships and increase awareness of strengths and challenges in Dallas ISD schools.
The annual project is a collaboration between the Dallas Regional Chamber and Dallas ISD and is presented by Capital One Bank.
SEM Yearbook now on sale!
Reserve one for your child asap- as those who purchase the yearbook are guaranteed photos in the yearbook.
The yearbook staff will update the sales report weekly and use that as a guide when taking pictures. Don't wait until the last minute to buy a yearbook. We have already started creating pages and taking photographs!
Deadline to create a senior ad is Jan. 15th and deadline to buy the yearbook is Feb. 15th.
Cost for placing a senior ad for your graduate is $50 for 1/2 page. Cost for 2014 yearbook is $30.
1) Yearbook envelopes are now available in Mr. Peak's office and cash or check can be put in the drop box. Please write your child's name and grade on the for line at the bottom of the check and tell your child to put the cash or check in a sealed envelope.
