We are taking nominations for the 2014-2015 PTSABoard. The list of board postions can be found here on the PTSA website in the bylaws and the standing rules.
Being part of the SEM board is fun and interesting, and is a great way to give back to your child's school. If you are interested in volunteering for the board or want more information, please contact the nominating committee represenative, Michelle Wolf at email@example.com.

May 1st • Thursday, May 1st in the library • 116 students • Call to release all 9th grade SEM students to library at 2:30PM • Exam will end in time to take the late bus. • Students will need to stay and take late bus.
Attention World History AP Class:-Mock Exam
We have a mandatory WHAP Exam Wed April 30 in the Commons from 4:30 - 7:45pm. This will be a complete practice test - multiple choice AND essays - under timed conditions. Yes, food will be provided, but you will need to arrange for transportation around 8pm that evening. As an added incentive . . . . Mr. Moore will add the points you receive on the Mock (1 to 5) on your final six weeks grade. Thus, taking this practice exam is a Win/Win! -Mr. Moore

SEM Robotics Team at Maker Faire
Members of the SEM FTC Robotics Team Iron Reign Spent their Saturday demonstrating their robots with the Dallas Personal Robotics Group at the Frisco Mini Maker Faire which was located at the Frisco Sci-Tech Discovery Center. Caitlin Rogers, Jayesh Sharma, Max Virani, and Tycho Virani demonstrated the robot they used to compete in the FTC challenge; as well as a robot that they are designing and building to compete in the Can-Can Soccer competition, part of the Roborama competition to be held at the Perot Museum on May 10th at noon. Lyle School of Engineering 7th - 10th Grade Summer Camp 2014
There are only a few spots left for the 7th through 10th grade Lyle Engineering Summer Camp.
This day program is designed for girls and boys entering 7th through 10th grade in Fall 2014. Students will explore disciplines of engineering offered at the Lyle School of Engineering; electrical, mechanical, civil and environmental engineering through hands-on, interactive projects. This camp is for students who have an interest in engineering, but not an expertise. By the end of camp, the students will have a solid foundation on which to build on and encourage them to engage more actively in their math and science classes upon their return to school. Eligibility: Camp is open to all girls and boys who will be entering the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grades in Fall 2014.
*Please note that the same material will be presented at both sessions per grade level. Who? High school young women entering their sophomore or junior year in the fall who will be taking pre-AP Physics or AP Physics I and have completed Pre-AP Algebra II.
Dallas ISD — June 9 - June 20 at Irma Rangel Dallas ISD — June 23 - July 3 at N. Dallas High All other ISDs — June 16 - June 27 at UT Dallas Hurry to apply! Each session is limited to 40 students. Payment of $500 would be due at registration, but DISD students are eligible for FREE tuition! The deadline stated on the website has past, but Ms Gass has extended it for SEM students to still apply.
