UTA STEM Speaker Series
Dear STEM Teachers and students, I am writing to invite you to attend our annual Speaker Series. Some of the brightest minds in engineering will present on challenges that are facing our world today, from water and sustainability issues to drones and the impact that they are beginning to make in all of our lives. The Texas Workforce Commission estimates the need for more than 80,000 engineers by 2020. To meet this need, we need to get young people interested in engineering, science and math now. We hope that you and your students will take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about engineering. The College of Engineering is committed to helping as much as we can. We look forward to working with you in this goal! The lectures and receptions are free and open to the public, and they are suitable for high school students (and high-achieving junior high students). Information about each speaker is available at www.uta.edu/engineering/speakerseries. Parking is free in Lot 36 (NE corner of Cooper Street and UTA Blvd.) No parking permit is required. Please park in spaces marked for students only.
Sincerely, Tracey Faulkinbury Director of Marketing Services, UTA
