SAVE THE DATE: Plan to attend the yearbook signing party!
Our yearbook signing party has been moved to Friday, May 20. (originally scheduled for April 13.) This is a party where we distribute the yearbooks all at once and give the kids several hours after school to hang out and sign each others books. We provide food and decorations to make it a festive party. this year's theme is "Collegiate" and we welcome help with the decorations. Please contact Marianne Leclerc if you'd like to help... firstname.lastname@example.org.
Forming next year's yearbook committee now!
Working on the yearbook in a leadership role is a GREAT thing to put on your college applications and really does give you good project management experience. We are already forming a committee for next year’s book, and are in search of an executive editor, and an editor for each grade. The executive editor needs to be someone who can rally the other students to be deliberate about taking high quality photos throughout the year, load them onto the yearbook server and build the yearbook pages - keeping an eye on good representation of the student body.
If you are organized and would sink your teeth into organizing the yearbook, please contact Marianne Leclerc.
We also need new parent volunteers as the parents who started the yearbook have seniors who are graduating this year and its time to hand over the reins.
Along the same lines... we are looking for people (students and parents) who would like to work on the website committee as we strive to really build-out the site and make it a full repository for all school activities and events and make its calendar function more useful.
Please call Marianne (214 906 7022) or email (email@example.com) to discuss what all is involved in any of these tasks.

Target your community service with an internship with The Shoulders of Giants non-profit organization. As an intern, you would be actively engaged in a level of research in the lab. They are a research hub as well as a teaching lab, and our scientists submit for publications/conferences/journals etc. This program is designed to develop your skills so you will become useful as a researcher.
It takes a very special applicant to engage as an high school intern. They require a 3.8 GPA or higher. The student must submit a letter of intent, transcripts, resume and interview with Dr. Foland.
All interns are part of the Mentorship program classes (perhaps $45, but price is not set for Fall yet) and will receive a reduced for the program.

Our Schoola clothes fundraising drive is in full swing.
